Before we begin please note:

To help you get a sense of what we will be doing in Accounting I given the current environment on Campus, I'll outline here my plans for the course.

Our class will begin in a synchronous, remote fashion from January 20, 2022 through January 25th, meaning our first Thursday and Tuesday class. We will return to face-to-face instruction for the Spring 2022 semester on Thursday, January 27th, 2022. Masks WILL be required in class thru January 31, 2022 and may include a return to masking should conditions warrant it.

If at all possible, I would like your camera on so we can start the process of getting to know each other. Both below and on the syllabus you will find courses materials and assignments. This class will use the Canvas syllabus, gradebook, and FPU Outlook email.

After the start of the Spring semester, in the event that COVID-19 cases rise to a threshold of infection that warrants an altered teaching environment, I will update the content and let you know of any changes.

Should anyone need or be required to quarantine or isolate due to COVD-19, you must work with me to determine a plan for keeping up with your classwork.

Hello, students! Welcome to this course. I am looking forward to working with you this semester and getting to know each of you. One of the many reasons I love teaching this particular course is the real world applications we can share. You will see how knowing about accounting is important for everyone, not just accountants!

Please go through all the web pages to familiarize yourself with how we'll operate. You'll see that your textbook is FREE!!! (You don't hear that too many times, do you?) If you prefer a print copy of the text, the cost is very reasonable and is available both at the bookstore or online.

Please contact me as soon as you have any challenges so that we can work together to meet your needs. I know many of you may be apprehensive about the course, but do not worry, you do not need to be "good with math" to be successful. We will learn together, step-by-step, this new "language of business".
